Actually, Panda, I can't tell you lies. It's you. It's the bulletproof, fade-proof, everlasting way that you fend off camera flashes, while I walk the red carpet squinty and watery-eyed. It's the way you always smell musky and like cupcake frosting, no matter how long it's been since you last had a shower. It's the restless, even demonic way your eyelids twitch when you actually fall into the throws of slumber.

cities, birds, burns, shitty.in a big city, our situation would be fine. i could be in your arms one minute, and running down a sidewalk the next, running from this, from you,
into a hail of questions and a labyrinth of buildings.
in a high school hallway, our situation is preserved like a bird, false and feathered, like my hair when it dries, or even like your eyelashes, you pretty boy. your teeth aren't meant for my lips, so stop trying to make them fit. even you belong with someone better than me.
in a foolish girl's heart, our situation cuts gashes too numerous, and too deep. my fi cities, birds, burns, shitty.

gore's a bore.i watched you put your organs in pale green glass jars, your palms like shark wounds dripped crimson into the formaldehyde you preserved everything in.
when i asked you why you'd do such a thing, you shrugged your shoulders and tossed your liver (or maybe your pancreas?) into a jar, shelving it with everything else.
i started taking silent guesses. maybe now that the leaves had changed, your insides needed a change as well. unable to survive the cold new air.
you packed your intestines as tight as you could into three jars and i thought of how many pieces of taffy and jello shots passed through them the gore's a bore.
